Special Procedures

Special Procedures
The following special procedures are done in our office: skin surgery (cancer and cosmetic), cryosurgery, Botox, fillers, skin peels, allergy testing and photochemotherapy (light treatments). All special procedure patients are requested to give at least two days notice of a cancellation.
Mohs Micrographic Surgery
Mohs Micrographic Surgery is an advanced form of treatment for skin cancer. The goal of Mohs surgery is to remove all of the tumor while damaging the least amount of healthy tissue as possible. The doctor starts by removing one layer of the tumor and examining it with a microscope. Using a sophisticated mapping system, a doctor can determine if all of the cancer is gone. If cancer cells remain, the physician removes another layer and examines it. The process continues until all of the cancer is removed. This surgery is performed in our skin surgery Office located at 7A Cleveland Court (ext. 153).
Psoriasis Treatment Center
This office provides a complete psoriasis treatment facility with a full time therapist and equipment designed to improve patient care. For appointments or questions regarding psoriasis, please call Lisa in our office (ext. 101).
Skin Pathology
If you have skin surgery, the surgical specimen will be sent to a lab to determine the nature of the lesion. We will send it to Dermatopathology Consultation Service, specialists in skin pathology. You will receive a separate bill from them for their services. If you are a Medicare patient, they file with Medicare directly. They accept assignment on all Medicare patients.
Some managed care insurance companies require that we use other labs such as Quest or LabCorp. These labs will file your insurance directly.
You will be billed for your deductible and co-insurance from all labs.
